Summerland Optometry

Dr. Kimberley Goods completed her Bachelors of Science at the University of Victoria in 2006 prior to beginning her studies in Optometry. She completed her Optometry Doctorate at University of Waterloo in 2011. She joined Summerland Optometry after graduation to work alongside her father, Dr. Grant Goods.

Dr. Kimberley Goods has a special interest in developmental optometry and has extensive post-graduate training in the area of Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation. She completed the clinical curriculum courses offered by the Optometric Extension Program Foundation in order to be able to offer an in-office vision therapy program. She holds vision therapy very close to her heart as her son requires vision therapy.

In addition to my specialty work, I am fully certified as a "primary care" optometrist and welcome new patients to our office from all walks of life. 

When she is not in the office, Kimberley enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children, snowboarding, hiking, and enjoying the Okanagan.

Dr. Amber Jeannotte was raised in Yellowknife NT. She completed a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta with honors in 2003. After graduation she took a couple years off to travel Central & South America. In 2010 Dr. Jeannotte attended Pacific University College of Optometry where she was awarded Valedictorian of her class. She completed ocular disease-based externships at a Veterans Hospital in Kentucky, co-management centre in Virginia Beach and health centre in rural Alaska. She also joined a mission trip to provide eye care in Belize.

From 2014-2021 Dr. Jeannotte practiced full scope rural optometry serving the community of Williams Lake and the surrounding areas. She travelled to surrounding communities, including Redstone, Nemiah Valley, Alexis Creek/Anaham, Dog Creek/Canoe Creek and Stone to provide eye care via mobile clinics. She also provided screenings for 3–4 year olds at a local pre-school and held an information session regarding the importance of regular eye exams and common childhood conditions for moms at pregnancy outreach.

Dr. Jeannotte is excited to join Summerland Optometry and to serve the community and surrounding areas. She is moving to Summerland with her husband and two young kids. Outside the clinic, Dr. Jeannotte loves to travel and enjoy the outdoors including kayaking, hiking and camping.

Born and raised in Manitoba, Dr. Rach pursued his passion for optometry, earning a BSc in Biology from the University of Winnipeg in 1999. He then completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 2003. As part of his education, Dr. Rach gained valuable experience through clinical internships in Bethel, Alaska, and Fernandina Beach, Florida.

After graduating, Dr. Rach worked in Devils Lake, North Dakota, for three years before moving to the Yukon with his family in 2006. He has since become a respected figure in the Yukon's optometry community, holding hospital privileges at Whitehorse General Hospital and advocating for expanded optometry services. In his free time, Dr. Rach enjoys exploring the Yukon outdoors through fishing, hunting, and photography. He's also a talented curler, having represented the Yukon in the Brier twice.

After returning from teaching English in China Katherine moved with her husband from the Lower Mainland to the Okanagan.

Katherine joined the team at Summerland Optometry in the fall of 2021 as lead pre-tester, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in customer service and project coordinating in an array of industries including hospitality, education, and the film industry.

In 2022 she adapted to the role of front desk coordinator managing recalls, creating standard operating procedures for all departments, and training new staff.

When not in the office, she's either out enjoying nature with her family or soapmaking.

Louise joined Summerland Optometry in 2016 starting in pretest and imaging.  She has since shifted into the role of accounting and front desk reception. Louise brings extensive experience in customer service from many years in the tourism industry. She brings a very positive energy to our clinic and will most likely be at the front desk to greet you with a warm welcome.

Louise grew up in White Rock, BC. In 1994, along with her husband and 2 children Louise moved to the Okanagan to operate a hotel / tour reservation company in Penticton.  It was here that she discovered her love of working with the public.

Since 2003 she and her husband have operated their family cherry orchard and when she's not at the office, you will most likely find her working in the orchard. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking, bicycling, and occasionally golf.

Teresa joined the team at Summerland Optometry in 2022 after moving from Burnaby to the Okanagan. Teresa brings over 19 years experience in the eyecare industry from multiple positions as an ophthalmologist assistant.  

Teresa is able to cover multiple areas at the practice including front desk, pre-testing, imaging and visual field testing. In her spare time Teresa enjoys spending time volunteering for the local animal rescue, gardening and many outdoor activities.

Tannis is a long time Okanagan resident with over 14 years experience in the health care industry. She joined the front desk team of Summerland Optometry in Sept of 2022. Tannis enjoys working with people and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in patient care.

She started as an MOA for Heartline Medical in 2008. In 2011 she left the Summerland area briefly and took a position as an MOA at a cardiology practice in Prince George.

In 2013 she moved back to the Okanagan taking a position with Interior Health working in mental health. She was actively involved in the planning of the Martin Street Outreach Centre. After 4 years in mental health, she moved into the department of public health eventually taking on a management role. Her most recent endeavor was becoming BCDO certified as an Ocular Hygienist.

When not in the office you might finding her teaching spin classes at Pure, spending time with her two adorable children or enjoying the perks of Okanagan lifestyle- camping and wine!

Maegan joined the team at Summerland Optometry in 2015. With over 15 years experience in the customer service industry, she has excelled in a number of areas of the practice as pre-tester, contact lens specialist, front desk support, and imaging.

Maegan has been a long-time Summerland resident.  She moved her with her family at the age of 4 and it has been her home since.  She currently resides in one of the oldest Summerland homes with her husband and 2 playful boys.

Upon return from her second maternity leave Maegan began training under Dr Kimberly Goods to take on the role of Vision Therapist in our newly launched Vision Therapy Clinic. She is very excited to lead in this new role as it fulfills her dream of helping people, specifically children. She is also leading the development of the practice social media presence.

Teija joined our team early in 2022. She has stepped in to the role of pre-tester and contact lens specialist. Being a contact wearer herself, since a very young age, instructing new contact lens wearers has been a natural fit. She loves helping each individual she has the pleasure of meeting.

Teija is a local to the South Okanagan. In her spare time away from the office she enjoys hunting,fishing, camping and just being outdoors, as well as spending time with family and her 2 fur babies.

Sandrine is the newest member to our dispensing team. She brings a wealth of knowledge with over 16 years’ experience in optometric practice. Sandrine completed her optician education in France and moved to Canada in 2014 on a 1 year working visa.

Her and her husband fell in love with the Okanagan and decided to stay and settle in Penticton. She joined Apex Optometry in Penticton as an optometrist assistant eventually moving into the role of office manager.

In 2021 she decided to leave the eyecare industry to work with her husband at their distillery in Summerland. The Alchemist specializes in making apple-based spirits. In the fall of 2022, she decided to step back into eyecare and joined the team at Summerland Optometry.

In addition to working as dispenser she is skilled in the edging lab and her time in office management roles, has given her the opportunity to grow her knowledge and be a significant asset to the practice.

When not at the office or working at the distillery, she enjoys outdoor activities with her family and playing board games with friends.

In the fall of 2015 Amy joined the team at Summerland Optometry, bringing a wealth of experience in the eyecare industry. In 1999 after two years of study at the University of British Columbia she chose to take leave and start her family.

In 2002 she joined Apex Optometry in Penticton as an optometric assistant. Over the next 12 years, through in office, online and continuing education seminars, she gained education and experience in all areas of optometric practice and practice management. In the fall of 2014 with 3 teenagers heavily involved in competitive swimming she left the eyecare field briefly and became involved with the KISU Swim Club as a parent, volunteer, level 2 official and staff member in the role of club administrator.

In 2021 she made the shift to take on the role of Office Manager for the practice. Her versatility allows her to cover many areas of the practice, including leadership, admin, imaging, eyewear selection, troubleshooting and patient support. Amy lives in Penticton with her daughter and when she’s not in the office you will find her enjoying all the best parts of the Okanagan lifestyle.

Michelle joined the team at Summerland Optometry in the fall of 2018.  Through workshops, online courses and with the guidance of her colleagues she was quick to learn all aspects of the practice. Whether at the front desk, assisting patients in selection of eyewear or working in the lab, Michelle is always helpful, caring, enthusiastic and friendly.

In 2021 Michelle took on the role of dispensary manager. Michelle’s years of experience as small business owner, in leadership, and customer service have made her a natural fit for this role. Since taking on the role, she has shifted the dispensary in a new direction expanding our selection with new product lines.  Her attention to detail, quality and value is creating exciting change in the eyewear options we offer.

She lives in Summerland with her two children. When not in the office, she’s out enjoying all of the outdoor activities that the beautiful Okanagan provides in every season.

Angie is the newest member to the team at Summerland Optometry joining in spring of 2024. Angie has been an Aesthetician and Educator in the Spa industry since 1990. In addition to previously owning and operating her own spa in West Vancouver, she has over 17 years as an educator in the aesthetics field. Formerly at Blanche Macdonald School, Vancouver Community College and most recently at Okanagan College running an online program for indigenous women in career development in trades.

Angie was born and raised in North Vancouver. In 2023 she moved to Summerland with her husband and two dogs. Both of their children are now off on their own adventures in life, however frequently visit their ‘labor of love’ 1920’s home here in Summerland. Having no regrets, they didn’t just move here, they ran!

When not working you will find Angie in her vegetable garden puttering, cooking new recipes or

entertaining their many friends and family visiting the beautiful Okanagan.

We are very excited to have Angie join our team and share her professionalism and knowledge of Medical Esthetics in her new role of Ocular Hygienist at Summerland Optometry.
