Dr. Amanda Weinerman comes from a long lineage of eye care professionals, where a passion for personalized vision care was passed down through generations. Inspired early on by both her father and grandfather, she developed a deep appreciation for combining clinical expertise with individualized treatment. Her grandfather, a skilled ocularist, crafted artificial eyes for notable figures including the last King of Egypt, and was also known for designing elegant custom eyewear using gold, silver, and natural materials.

Dr. Weinerman completed an externship at Manchester Eye Hospital in 1990, further strengthening her clinical foundation and international perspective in eye care.

With a strong commitment to patient-centered care, Dr. Weinerman has a particular interest in children’s vision and development. She has contributed to the field by teaching paediatric care and binocular vision clinics at the University of Waterloo, helping shape the next generation of eye care professionals.

Dr. Weinerman is dedicated to making eye care accessible to all, offering in-home eye exams for patients with limited mobility. She has also completed the San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training program, reflecting her commitment to providing respectful, inclusive, and culturally aware care to diverse communities.
