Bayview Vision Care

Upon graduating from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, Dr. Ng returned to the Bayview Village area where he grew up. 

He opened Bayview Vision Care over 20 years ago and began to develop a myopia control specialty program using orthokeratology lenses which has helped countless children avoid the detrimental affects of high myopia.  His passion for myopia management has extended beyond his clinic as he frequently helps and mentors other eye doctors develop similar programs in their offices.  Dr. Ng also continues to do clinical research and consultation with industry leaders with the development of new myopia control devices.

Dr. Raphaela So’s need for vision correction as a child fostered her curiosity about the eye and vision at an early age. Her studies in the sciences and her continued interest in vision led her to obtain a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry and Vision Science.

Dr. So’s dedication to service goes beyond our office as she engages in charitable work locally and internationally with organizations such as Out of the Cold Foundation and Mully Children’s Family.

Dr. So is fluent in English and conversational Cantonese.

Dr. Jonathan So graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry and Vision Science in 2002. He interned at Dr. David Ng’s practice and completed an externship in ocular disease and therapeutics at The Eye Foundation of Utah in Salt Lake City, specializing in ocular disease treatment, glaucoma management, laser vision correction, and cataract surgery.

Dr. So’s practice philosophy emphasizes patient education to enhance and preserve vision with the highest standard of eye health care. He received the Centennial Optical Scholarship and the Essilor Award for Academic and Clinical Excellence in Optics and is certified in orthokeratology and trained in laser vision correction co-management. Dr. So is fluent in Cantonese.

Dr Alex Hui is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree and his PhD at the University of Waterloo. He has practiced optometry in a variety of locations, including in Canada, the USA and Australia.

Dr Hui has been an invited speaker at various conferences worldwide including in Japan, Canada, the USA and Australia, presenting various topics including on contact lenses, ocular disease, myopia management and ocular therapeutics.

Dr. Duc Le completed his Doctor of Optometry degree on the Dean’s Honour List at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. He splits his time between his full-service private practice in downtown Toronto and Bayview Vision Care. With his extended training and experience, Dr. Le served as an Assistant Clinical Professor supervising senior optometric interns from both the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and the New England College of Optometry.

Since 2011, Dr. Le has been active as a consultant for several corporate institutions and has co-hosted meetings with fellow optometrists in the GTA on a variety of treatment and management of ocular disease topics

Dr. Le speaks fluent Vietnamese and can often be found outdoors snowboarding in the winter and golfing in the summer.
