OSI 2021 VIRTUAL NATIONAL SUMMIT - A SUCCESS FROM COAST TO COAST

Enlivening the conversation and delivering value with high-calibre speakers and riveting presentations!

On Sunday, May 16, optometrists, opticians, clinic staff and supplier partners from across Canada gathered in virtual mode to attend the first online edition of the OSI National Summit.

The 3-hour event featured engaging presentations, insights and comprehensive training delivered by internationally renowned keynote speakers. The event was hosted by DJ Lady Blackice and participants were treated to a surprise gift box to enjoy during the event.

Patrice Lacoste, President and CEO of OSI Group delivered the opening remarks, reinforcing the company’s mission of helping independent optometry practices across Canada achieve greater success. “We provide the benefits of a centralized buying group and also help clinics improve their efficiency with the use of our Optosys technology and by giving them access to our affordable Vision Store eCommerce solution,” said Patrice.

SHOWCASING RENOWNED INSPIRATIONAL KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Dr. Dan Samaha, OD, shared his expertise and insights about OCT for glaucoma diagnosis, screening and detection. 

An expert in digital marketing, Mike Bunker offered meaningful advice on how to increase a clinic’s search visibility through SEO, drive more traffic to its website and elevate the brand’s awareness with social media. 

OSI Group Members also had the unique opportunity to discover upcoming frame trends for fall 2021 during a one-on-one interview with Kate Young, the prominent New York-based celebrity stylist. 

With four decades of experience in the optical industry, Jackie O’Keefe, ABOC, offered guidance on Frame Board management, including the planning of an optimal fashion mix, board mix, price points and product turnover rate.

The event concluded with an inspirational presentation on entrepreneurship by Manjit Minhas, the successful entrepreneur from CBC’s Dragons’ Den, followed by a raffle of numerous prizes provided by our generous partner suppliers.
